About Girl Abroad

Hi, my name is Holly and I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I am not a blogger and really never thought I would be. Truth is that I am pretty bad at writing about myself.

            

However, as I am about to start a huge journey far away from my home and everyone I know and love, I thought it might be a good idea to start this blog...or rather public diary so that I stay connected with people.

And what is this journey that I am embarking on? College. But not just any college, college in Switzerland...and so begins my very long study abroad.

One Week Left

I have one week left in the states, and then its off to Switzerland.

That means:

• one week left to see all of my friends
• one week left to pack for four months
• one week left to prepare all travel documents
• one week left to say goodbye
• one week left to drag the boyfriend to a baseball game

My body is curdling with anxiety...and instead of checking things off of the list, I am blogging. I justify it by saying that I need to learn to get in the habit. But let's be real: I just don't want to leave.

I know it may seem silly to say that I don't want to go to Switzerland. Of course I want to go to Switzerland. I just don't want to leave D.C. If only I could study in Europe and live in the U.S. (man I hate ending sentences with initials, I never know how many periods to put)

Anyways, with one week left before I leave I am feeling the pressure to make it last. So, this will be it for now. I have a checklist to do.
